Due to an equipment malfunction, the pool is temporarily closed. We expect the pool to be re-opened tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

HOA rules require young children to wear protective diapers while swimming.  Each instance of fecal contamination requires the pool to be closed for a period of time to chemically treat the water and determine its safety.  Each treatment is an added expense for the chemicals, overtime costs for staff, and additional trips by the pool maintenance company.  All residents are urged to adhere to the posted pool rules to ensure that the pool remains open and available for use by the entire community and to reduce the cost to the HOA.

The Board of Directors of the Behrens Ranch HOA has accepted the resignation of the current president, William Orange, effective on April 30, 2012.  Mr. Orange has accepted an employment opportunity in Tennessee, and he and his family will be moving after the current school year ends.  Mr. Orange has served on the Board since the transition from the developer controlled board to a resident controlled board.  Prior to that Mr. Orange served on the Advisory Committee and was active in resident initiated efforts to improve the community.  The Board regrets his departure, but wishes him and his family the best in his new opportunity.

Well, the April 1st opening of the pool has proved to be the ultimate April Fools joke! Still, we really can’t complain given the fact that we have gotten some good rain, and it continues.

As of March 30, 2012, the status of the renovation at the pool and Residents Center is as follows:

1. The patio resurface has been completed and the patio is open for the April 1st community Easter Egg Hunt.

2. The mushroom in the kiddie pool has been refinished.

3. The pool renovation is complete and the pool is about one half refilled with water.

4. The painting of the interior of the Residents Center will be completed by March 30.

5. The pool deck is scheduled for the final application on April 2 and mystic installation on April 3.

6. The start up process (chemical addition, stabilization, brushing) should begin on April 4.

7. If all goes well the pool should be functional by income tax day. (Oh joy, another coincidental pairing of days!)

It is critical that all residents understand that even though the pool will appear functional after the final application on the deck, a significant process will still be underway. The start up process is the time when the new pool water is treated chemically and the new surface of the pool is brushed twice a day. During this time the chemical make up of the water is changing constantly and is not at levels appropriate for swimming. Until the orange construction fence is pulled away from the pool gate, no entrance to the pool area should be attempted. Notice will be made to the community when the pool is officially open for use.
