Some of you might have noticed the beautiful new flowers at the subdivision entrance. It turns out our Landscape Committee is responsible. Here’s an update from the committee:
—
What’s happening in the Landscape….
The Landscape replant is approximately 98% completed. There are a couple of areas that are still outstanding, i.e. the front entrance. The replant consisted of over $15K worth of new plant material (half of which was provided by Masonwood Properties and half from credits for services not rendered by Austin Eagle) that was planted at all of the section entrances, the intersection of Wyoming Springs/Behrens Ranch Parkway, the windmill, the Amenity Center and around the utility boxes on Wyoming Springs. All of the plants carry a 1 year warranty. Please notify landscape@behrensranch.org if you see any of the plants have died, or are struggling, so appropriate action can be taken.
After raising concerns over the appearance of the zinnias along Wyoming Springs and at the windmill, Austin Eagle is in the process of switching them out to a different summer annual. This is part of our standard contract for 2x yearly annual color (summer and fall) in specifically designated areas.
The area behind the fence line along the flood zone area in The Crossing section will continue to be mowed approximately one time per month along with the general trail maintenance as stated in our landscape maintenance contract.
We are in the process of transplanting 7 crepe myrtles and 2-4 oaks from the Amenity Center area to make way for the extended parking lot. 5 crepe myrtles will be relocated to the medians in Behren’s Ranch Parkway at the intersection of Wyoming Springs to improve the appearance of that vast intersection. The remaining 2 crepe myrtles and 2-4 oaks have been moved along the back side of the new pool feature to help to camouflage the new kiddie pool.
We have a meeting with Austin Eagle, our landscaping maintenance provider, next week to review the replant, discuss ongoing general maintenance, the sprinkler system and the trail system.
Regards,
Jacque
